Well great you picked a lot of good points, maybe they think their special for using apple, and if its more expensive that just makes it seem better for them. 
Sure apple make some very desirable stuff but I'v used Vista and Ubuntu and they are great also, with faults as well but hey thats OS's for ya. 
A bit expensive to upgrade but if you get with a new purchase....
