Finally someone who has the same view on this as myself. I too believe that the hype has grown way out ofproportion. In one way I would like to congratulate Apple for an unbelievable marketing success but at the same time I get almost physically sick if someone says "iPhone" around.  
 
Just as you KW I have a Touch and I am very pleased with it. Sure, it too has some flaws as does every modern gadget, but they aren't many. 
 
I hope the hype surrounding the iPhone stops soon, and in the meantime I will keep laughing at people who fell for the hype. That's all I can do in defence!
