The "We" in "what we wanted" refers to power users. The iMac isn't a power user machine. Quite the contrary: It's meant to be used by amateurs to accomplish specific tasks easily, without complication. It's the machine that a real estate agent will hand to clients so they can go shopping. It's the machine that you'll pick up as you start a museum tour. (The museum will have hundreds of them.) It's the machine that the receptionist will give you so that you can enter your patient information when you visit the doctor. The iPad is going to be ubiquitous in a few years.

An update improving the Garageband's stability would've been way more impressive. 
 
The ipad is nothing more than a snack to keep the fanboys happy and posting.
